Based on average entry-level wages for qualified journeypersons of Non-Union $22.00/hour. Union ranges from $24.00 to $35.00/hour depending on skill shortage, job location and trade.

TOOL ALLOWANCE

 

Some employers assist the apprentice with tool costs. A Tool Allowance is considered to be a paid benefit and must be reported as taxable income. Average: $50.00 (per paycheque) x 26 (pay periods) = $1300.00 a year

 

UPGRADE TRAINING – SPECIALIZED TRAINING

Costs vary depending on the length and certification of courses. The average cost is $700.00 a course.
Depending on the preferences and needs of the employer, training could include:

Computer Training
